By  |  2 Comments

Appointments, project due dates, vacations these are just a few of the many events that fill up calendars.

Google Calendar support is built into Android smartphones, but that doesn’t leave the iPhone hanging.

Syncing your Google Calendar to the iPhone is much better than using Safari to look at appointments, and includes a number of added beenfits.

With a few easy steps you can sync your Google Calendar to the iPhone calendar app. This includes all events, meetings, reminders and recurring appointments.

How to Sync Google Calendar to iPhone

Tap Settings.

Settings

Scroll down and Select Mail, Contacts and Calendars.

Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Tap the Google account with the Calendar that needs to be  synced.

Gmail

If you don’t have Gmail synced to your device, tap on Add Account and enter your username and password.

Scroll down and Turn Calendar to ON.

Calendars

After Calendars has been turned to ON Google will start syncing the calendar to the iPhone.

To check that the calendar is being synced Tap Calendar

Check

Once Calendar loads Tap Calendars in the Top Left corner

Tap Here

If the gmail account that was turned on to sync calendars appears in the settings with a checkmark it has been setup correctly.

Success

If there are multiple calendars that need synced to the iPhone use this same process for each account. iOS devices and Macs that use iCloud already share calendars by default as shown in the screen shot above.

Another thing to point out is that an event can be created on the iPhone, Google calendar or another program and it will still be synced. It doesn’t just have to be entered in Google Calendar to sync across the devices.

Overall syncing the iPhone to google calendar is very useful if there are a lot of events that fill up your calendar.
