Pantech Marauder Heading to Verizon’s 4G LTE Network

Published

Pantech is back with a new budget 4G LTE smartphone for Verizon and this time it’s the Pantech Marauder that will be hitting the carrier’s high-speed network.

The Pantech Marauder, which follows the Pantech Breakout, will be hitting Verizon’s 4G LTE network on August 2nd for a mere $49.99 after a $50 rebate making it a perfect fit for someone’s first smartphone.

That price will require customers to sign a new two-year contract with Verizon. Customers who are new to Verizon will be required to sign up for one of Verizon’s new Shared Everything plans.

The Pantech Marauder is heading to Verizon for cheap.

The Pantech Marauder doesn’t have mind-blowing specifications but they are solid, especially for a device at its price point.

It features a slide-out physical keyboard, perfect for those that are coming from a BlackBerry. It also employs a 5MP camera, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and mobile hotspot support.

Of course, it also features 4G LTE data capabilities which means that it will be able to pull down data speeds that are up to 10 times faster than normal 3G.

We reviewed Pantech’s other 4G LTE smartphone on Verizon, the Pantech Breakout, and came away fairly impressed by how well done the phone was at its price point and we expect the same from the Pantech Marauder.

This phone won’t appeal to those looking for a high-end smartphone but it will appeal to those that are looking to get a smartphone or an Android smartphone for the first time.

Of course, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is only $50 more so customers will want to take a long look at that as well.
