Verizon Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean Update Gets Some Good News

Finally, there appears to be some good news in regards to the Verizon Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update that has been promised but has not been heard from since mid-July.

Earlier today, it became clear that the Motorola Xoom 4G LTE for Verizon might be getting its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update sometime in the near future.

One lucky Xoom 4G LTE owner has already received the update and it seems that that version of the update that the person received has been approved by Verizon and is, in fact, the final version of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software for the Motorola Xoom.

So, you’re probably asking yourself. How in the world does this have anything to do with the Verizon Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update?

The wait for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus might be shorter than we once thought.

Simple. If this Xoom business is true, and it would seem that it is, it looks like Verizon may have gotten its act together when it comes to major Android updates.

Most Xoom owners on Verizon were expecting an update a long time from now, just as Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners like myself have expected the worst.

However, this has renewed some of the hope that I and many others had prior to the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean announcement and even on the day that Google announced that “all Galaxy Nexus” devices would be apart of the first batch of devices set to receive Jelly Bean.

Obviously, this isn’t any sort of confirmation of the update being anywhere close to rolling out, but again, if Verizon is able to get its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update this soon after the Wi-Fi version received its update, it bodes well for the prospects of a Verizon Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean update coming sooner than later.

So while things may still be pretty bleak, at least there seems to be a speck of light at the end of the tunnel. At the very least, it seems that Verizon is already at work trying to get its devices upgraded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and we assume that the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, which again was part of the initial batch that was promised the update, is a part of that group.

This reminds me of the stupid articles that came out purporting good “news” about the release of the Galaxy Nexus. Just a shameless grab for user clicks. Notice how many times they write “Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update” and how they make sure their title includes “Verizon Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean Update” when really this article is about pure speculation. Might as well come out with an article that says “Good news. I just farted, and the last time I farted someone with Verizon got an update. Does this mean the Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update for Verizon will come out soon? We’ll keep farting and report back to you.”

I just got my Jellybean update this morning (6 hours ago) on my Samsung Nexus. So far all is good.

Even if the Verizon Nexus does get jellybean the Verizon version of the Nexus will still be a POS. Mine has been replaced 4 times and it still loses LTE signal all the time. It still can.now swap from CDMA and LTE with out losing signal (you have to restart phone to get it back). Verizon and Samsung should be dragged kicking and screaming into court over this. I have dropped Verizon and forwarded there $350.00 POS phone along with all documentation on the Nexus to the FCC. Probally won’t do any good but if you don’t do something the CROOKS like Verizon will continue screwing the public.

I had the signal issue and it took me 4 verizon replacements and then 3 Samsung repairs for Samsung to send me a brand new Nexus. The customer satisfaction survey is probably what did it.

Why is everyone complaining? Just root, unlock, and flash 4.1. I’m running 4.1 jelly bean BAMF Paradigm. And I get Google wallet, and all jelly bean features. Quit crying and start flashing.
