iPhone 5 Photos Leak Ahead of Event

Published

Apple is just minutes away from announcing the iPhone 5 but it looks like the final version of the iPhone 5 may have leaked out ahead of the announcement.

French blog Nowhereelse.fr leaked out photos which it claims depict the iPhone that will be announced on stage today at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

The photos show a device very similar to what we expect the iPhone 5 to look like. The design appears to be taller than that of the iPhone 4S, we see a headphone jack situated on the bottom of the iPhone 5 and we also see the new smaller dock connector that is housed on the bottom of the smartphone.

This might be the iPhone 5.

We have heard that the iPhone 5 will indeed feature a new 4-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio for widescreen viewing a metal back, a new place for the headphone jack on the bottom of the iPhone, and a slimmer but taller design.

These images match up accurately with those rumors.

Of course, we likely won’t know for sure until Apple gets up on stage and announces the next iPhone which it should be doing in the next hour or so.

Earlier today a leak seemingly confirmed the name of the next iPhone as the iPhone 5 and it appears that the device will indeed have 4G LTE data speeds as has been rumored for quite some time.

It also appears that we’ll see new iPods at the event.

The iPhone 5 is also rumored to include a new HD front-facing camera, a new processor, and iOS 6. And while Apple is announcing it today, it likely won’t go on sale until later this month.

Pre-orders are said to begin either today or September 14th and we have been told that the iPhone 5 release date is September 21st.
