Incipio DualPro iPhone 5 Case Review

By  |  4 Comments

The Incipio DualPro iPhone 5 case is dual layer iPhone 5 case designed to protect the scratch prone iPhone 5 from nicks and bumps.

This two part case includes a silicon inner piece and an external hardcase for extra protection. This isn’t a rugged iPhone 5 case, but it offers more protection than most silicon only cases.

While the iPhone 5′s thin design looks great without a case, the DualPro is the first case I put on my iPhone 5, and it’s been in use most of the weekend.

Incipio DualPro iPhone 5 case - 5

Incipio DualPro iPhone 5 case.

The DualPro iPhone 5 case features a soft finish on the exterior, with a bit of grip on the edges thanks to the silicon inner layer. The case is about as thick as my iPhone 4 in a cheap hard case. While it adds thickness to the phone, it doesn’t make it unwieldy or un-pocketable.

The case includes a lip on the front of the iPhone 5, which protects the screen when placing the iPhone face down on a table. The lip doesn’t interfere with the screen, even though it is close to the sides of the larger iPhone 5 display.

The Incipio DualPro iPhone 5 case offers easy access to the new bottom located headphone jack, and because of the soft silicon liner it accommodates larger headphone jacks that don’t fit many other iPhone cases. The case offers a large opening for the Lightning connector, and it’s possible that it will work with the Lightning to 30-pin adapter. The power button and the volume buttons are covered in silicon and easy to press. The cutout for the vibrate switch is large enough for easy access.

Incipio includes a kickstand for landscape viewing.

Incipio includes a kickstand that holds the iPhone 5 in landscape mode for a better movie watching experience. The kickstand collapses to fit in a wallet or small bag pocket.

Incipio offers a number of color combinations, including the Charcoal Gray and Citron Yellow model sent for review. A small cutout on the back allows the bright inner silicon case to shine through. There are six color combinations available online.

The Incipio DualPro is a $29.99 iPhone 5 case and is available online and in some Verizon Wireless locations.

Incipio sells a brushed aluminum version of this case called the DualPro Shine, though it’s important to note that this is not actual aluminum, but an aluminum style finish. Incipio offers a number of iPhone 5 cases online and in stores including a wallet iPhone 5 case, one with a kickstand and many others for $30 to $40.

I read that the cell phones emit a dangerous non-ionizing form of electromagnetic radiation; radiation which can be absorbed by the tissues and cells which come into close contact with the phone. That’s why I decided to do something that reduce cell phone radiation levels for protect to my family. In the end though, I found a couple of reviews of Pong Research’s cases, that convinced me to give it a try. This case is built with an antenna in between layers of the back cover, which reduces exposure to radiation while optimizing the mobile reception.
