iPad Mini display

Apple designed the iPad mini around a smaller 7.9-inch display that uses the same 1024 x 768 resolution as the iPad 2, with a higher 163 ppi (pixels per inch). The iPad mini does not feature a Retina Display like the iPad fourth generation, iPhone 5, iPod Touch and new MacBook Pro, but early impressions are positive.

With a 7.9-inch display, Apple hopes to compete with the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HD. At the event, Apple bragged that the display delivers significantly more viewable area than the Nexus 7, despite adding less than an inch to the diagonal screen size measurement.
