Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Jelly Bean Update Arrives for More Users

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Jelly Bean update has arrived for more users today and those operating the stylus-enhanced tablet in the United Kingdom, Spain and several Nordic countries should see the update roll out in the near future if it hasn’t rolled out already.

First noticed by Android Police, the roll out for the GT-N8000 version of the Galaxy Note 10.1 has continued into several more regions after it initially began rolling out to Galaxy Note 10.1 owners in Germany earlier this month. The new countries reportedly receiving the update today include the United Kingdom, Spain and “Nordic countries” which should mean Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 Jelly Bean update is rolling out to more users.

Those Galaxy Note 10.1 owners who want to install the free Jelly Bean update can head into their device’s Settings, then to About and then Check for the update. If it’s available, and it likely will be, there will be a prompt asking to download and install the software. The update is fairly massive, checking in at around 300MB, so Galaxy Note 10.1 owners will want to remain patient while the firmware downloads and installs itself.

Owners who don’t wish to wait can install the software manually though we suggest, for those that are not adept, waiting for the official update to roll out.

While this is great news for Galaxy Note 10.1 owners in these regions, this should also mean that roll outs in other regions that have yet to see the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, including the United States, might be seeing the update roll out in the near future.

The update brings all of the features contained in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean including a super smooth user interface, upgraded Browser, Google App drawer, more Camera app features, better Face Unlock and more. Jelly Bean is a massive upgrade over Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and those with the Galaxy Note 10.1 would be smart to install it.

It should also bring the Premium Suite that Samsung showed off earlier this month which includes improved applications for the device’s S-Pen stylus amongst other features.

I’m in the USA and have really been anxious to get this update. I check for it at least once a day. Hope it comes soon!

I can’t believe how long we’re having to wait for this in the US… I think we should at least get some kind of date to expect it to roll out so we’re not just in the dark.

This is so idiotic Samsung. Why do you release it country by country? Once confident from a smaller release, why canny you then release to the world? Fine, go ahead and release it in Korea first if you have to, but then go to the world, not country by country months at a time. It takes you as long as google takes to release the the next version to release the last version. Let’s see, I got ice cream on my note-I phone when google released jelly bean, and now I don’t have jelly bean and google already released 4.2 months ago. Kind of pathetic if you ask me. Maybe its time to go back to Apple who releases to the world within a few days, and they release going back to two generations of iPhones, all at the same time. I know this is a carrier problem for you but why isn’t it a carrier problem for Apple? Maybe you should demand the same contacts with at&t? And while you’re at it stop them from dumping their bloatware on your nice phones.

Blame your carriers for the massive delays. The reason why iOS is released faster is cuz carriers (particularly in the US) do not control Apple like what you just said. It’s the other way around for Android phones. This is why there also so many variations of the same phone model.

Since every carrier know that having an iPhone in their inventory means huge sales they’re the one’s bending over just to get them into their stores which pretty much gives Apple the right to say what goes and what doesn’t when selling iPhones via carriers. On the other hand, if Android phone manufacturers want certain carriers to sell their phone (especially if the phone model is unknown or not very popular) they pretty much have to give in to the demands of the carrier (whatever that is) so they’d sell them.

Another cause of delay is due to all the different models and hardware used for every android phone sold around the world from different phone manufacturers. This includes the custom skins and launchers placed on top of Android.

While every iPhone receive their updates straight from Apple. Android updates from Google first goes to the phone manufacturers, then to the carriers, then to your phones or tablets. The added two layers in the update process can lead to months of delays.

I think it good to release update that way…not releasing it worldwide. Why? The server will jack up when almost every Note tab owners will install the update at the same which slow them down or probably will say “Server error” or similar.

I’m waiting patiently on the Note update in the USA. At least pick USA next, then release it to other country ;)

Kinda bummed because it was pretty much a month between the Germany release and this one. Hope its not that way with coming to the US!

I just got my Note 10.1 and I almost dont even want to get to know it until this update it made, so I dont have to learn it twice!

What’s the fuss? Just download the German firmware from Saimmobile.com and flash it using ODIN. No rooting required and since it’s official Samsung FW, it’ safe & stable. Just google how to flash FW using ODIN.

Been using Jelly bean on my Malaysian Note 10.1 the same week as the German FW release.
