The Galaxy S4 launch date is coming soon according to Samsung Vice President JK Shin who shared details about the launch with a Korean publication. The Galaxy S4 launch is pegged for March 22nd. During the past year we’ve seen Samsung skip over major tech conventions like CES and Mobile World Congress to make announcements at special over the top media events. The Galaxy S3 launched at a Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin ahead of the IFA conference, complete with a symphony and magicians.Advertisement Advertisement The Samsung Mobile Unpacked event would likely take place in New York based on past Samsung events, and could be part of a bigger series of Samsung Mobile Unpacked events in London and Korea. This new rumor lines up with reports that Samsung would not use Mobile World Congress in February to launch the Galaxy S4, and earlier estimates of a launch in the Spring. We expect a 4.99-inch 1080P HD display, and possible the new Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor based on a benchmark as well as a 13MP camera. It looks like the Galaxy S3 replacement will run Android 4.2 out of the box, but Samsung is likely planning an update for Android 5.0, which we could see in May at Google I/0. The U.S. Galaxy S4 release would likely follow for multiple carriers in the weeks after the announcement.
