What if carrying around an 8-inch screen isn’t exactly your idea of fun, but you need just a little more horse power and screen real estate than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2? ZTE’s Grand Memo should do just the trick, and it features a few little tricks not yet seen in other smartphones.

These tricks include a new processor design that allows faster charging times for its large 3200 mAh battery, and built-in support for always-on voice recognition. Both of these advancements are brought to you by a new 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor – the latest and most advanced from chipmaker Qualcomm.

Rounding out this package is 16GB of internal storage, 1 GB of RAM, a 13MP rear-facing camera, and a 1MP front-facing camera. It’s also filled out nicely by a ZTE enhanced version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean that allows for a few new functions, including an exclusive menu gesture for bringing up shortcuts.

At this time there’s no release date for the ZTE Grand Memo in the United States. The device will head to China this March before a release in Europe sometime later in the calendar year.
