The Belkin Thunderstorm is more of a case than a speaker. It fits an iPad 2nd or 3rd generation and greatly increases the sound quality. The speaker runs alongside the left side of the iPad and has one bass driver and one tweeter on each side. The Belkin Thunderstorm uses a sound processor from Audifi to deliver deep bass and other high definition audio from the iPad. The case does not add a lot of bulk to the iPad. Also, there is a folding stand that makes watching moves with the case a lot more tolerable than having to prop up the case. A version with support for the iPad 4 will be coming out soon. $199 at Belkin

I can’t believe the Jabra Solemate didn’t make the list. It easily beats most of those speakers in sound quality and durability.

I agree with you about the Jabra Solemate, it’s also got about 8 hours of battery life which is above average. Bit of a hefty weight at 2 and a half pounds, but its built solidly.

Other than the Belkin iPad case/speakers, these Bluetooth speakers should work with any Bluetooth enabled device not just the iPad as the title seems to imply.
