Google’s more premium 4G LTE-enabled edition of the Chromebook Pixel is set to be available to consumers for an early April debut. The device, which features a touchscreen, will retail for $1,449 and will be compatible with Verizon’s LTE mobile broadband network in the U.S.

According to an update on the Google Play Store on Monday, the device is set to ship by April 8th for those who need mobile broadband connectivity. The WiFi-only edition has been available now for a short period.

Unlike previous Chromebook releases before, the Chromebook Pixel is all-Google. It features a premium design that’s slim like Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. The Chromebook Pixel has a 12.85-inch display and a resolution of 2560 X 1700-pixel on its touchscreen display, making it the most pixel-dense display on the market today for a notebook. It also comes with an Intel Core i5 processor that’s clocked at 1.8 GHz and ships with 4 GB of RAM, which means its processing power is similar to those in Ultrabooks and Microsoft’s Surface Windows 8 Pro tablet.

The Chromebook Pixel has a microSD card slot and two USB ports. It ships with 1 TB of Google Drive cloud storage for a period of three years along with 64 GB of on-board SSD storage.

The gorgeous display is rated at 400 nits of brightness, which is one of the brighter displays on the market today for a notebook.

The LTE version comes with 100 MB of data per month for free from Verizon for a period of two years. Users can purchase additional mobile broadband data if they wish, or switch to WiFi.

The standard WiFi edition comes with just 32 GB of on-board storage, though users will still have access to the three-year 1 TB of Google Drive storage for a lower $1299 starting price.
