Up until today, the world had an idea about what the HTC M4, also known as the HTC One Mini, looked like. Today, however marks the first time that we’ve seen the phone in the flesh and blood as HTC One Mini photos have leaked ahead of its launch date which is set to touch down at some point in the weeks ahead.
The HTC M4 has been a much talked about device since it first emerged as a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini competitor several weeks ago. The device, which remains unannounced, has leaked many times over the past few weeks, all of which culminated into today’s leak which shows off a device that looks very much like a smaller version of the HTC One.
Estonian website Forte claims that it has the first photos of the HTC One Mini, or HTC M4, and if these are the real deal, and they appear to be, the device has finally shown its face, well ahead of its launch date.
The photos showcase all of the rumors that we’ve heard about already. A 4.3-inch 720p display which is smaller and lesser than the 4.7-inch 1080p display on the HTC One. We also see a design that appears similar to the HTC One and we also get a glimpse at what appear to be a rear camera and a camera in the front.
It appears that the HTC One Mini is heading for an August release date though it’s unclear exactly when that release might take place. Rumors have suggested that we could see the device emerge in the month of July which could mean a release a few weeks after HTC’s official announcement.
Whatever the case may be, the HTC One Mini is looking like a solid competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Samsung’s own miniature version of its flagship smartphone.
Unlike the HTC One Mini, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini features a qHD resolution display and a plastic design. Like the HTC One Mini, its release date, official pricing and carriers remain unconfirmed. The Galaxy S4 Mini is though rumored for AT&T in the United States.
