Update: iPhone 5S Release Date Confirmed

Tomorrow, Apple is expected to announce two new iPhone models, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5S is expected to replace the iPhone 5 as the company’s flagship while the iPhone 5C is thought to be coming to replace the lower-end models. It’s unclear if the iPhone 5 will remain in 16GB form or not but there are rumors that suggest that that could be the case.

The iPhone 5S release has one Canadian carrier planning to discontinue the iPhone 5 32GB and 64GB models.

The iPhone 5S is expected to hit AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon.

While we’ve seen iPhone 5S release date rumors floating around, we haven’t seen any that specific target the United States’ release date. It’s assumed that that the heavily rumored iPhone 5S September 20th release date will likely hit the U.S. as the U.S. is typically first to Apple’s iPhone, however that remains unconfirmed.

Today, we finally have some key details thanks to Bloomberg as a report claims that T-Mobile will join other U.S. carriers at launch and offer the new iPhone, and likely new iPhones, to customers alongside the device’s other carriers. The report doesn’t mention a specific release date but it’s clear that the T-Mobile iPhone will be available when the release date does hit the United States.

T-Mobile is expected to join AT&T, Sprint and Verizon, iPhone launch veterans, and it could wind up joining U.S. Cellular as well. U.S. Cellular confirmed the iPhone for arrival later this year and the carrier has yet to release a device, making an iPhone 5S release likely.

The iPhone 5C is expected to join Apple's iPhone 5S.

The iPhone 5C is expected to join Apple’s iPhone 5S.

If true, this could be the largest iPhone launch in U.S. history as the device has typically been limited to only a few major carriers at launch with it trickling down to smaller carriers in the weeks after the initial release.

The iPhone 5S is expected to be Apple’s flagship smartphone, replacing the iPhone 5 with a new homebutton with fingerprint reader, new camera, new processor and a new color in champagne gold. It release is rumored for September 20th, the same date that is rumored for the iPhone 5C.

The iPhone 5C is expected to be a plastic version of the iPhone that comes in multiple colors. Rumors suggest that it could come with a 4-inch Retina Display, Lightning port, 8MP camera like the iPhone 5, iOS 7, and more. It’s not clear if T-Mobile or all U.S. carriers will offer it though it appears likely at this point.
