Sony makes computers, tablets, smartphones and the PS4, however the company does a pretty poor job of actually reaching across divisions and products to offer its users discounts and unique features.
Well, while the company continues to work on exclusive compelling features it’s at least offering users discounts. The company announced that it’ll give users a $100 credit when they purchase the company’s new Xperia Z1S smartphone and its PS4 video game console.
Sony announced the coupon during its press event at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, according to Polygon. Instead of knocking off the price of one of the devices, it appears as if users will simply be able to redeem that $100 Sony voucher for content in one of Sony’s online content stores.
While that isn’t as exciting as Sony simply subtracting $100 off the cost of one or both of devices, it’s still great news for anyone who might have had both devices on their shopping lists.
Sony announced the Xperia Z1S during its press briefing as well. Essentially, the Xperia Z1S is an updated version of the Xperia Z that features a 5-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB of storage and a rear-facing 20.7 megapixel camera. The Xperia Z1S is water-resistant and can stay submerged for as long as 30 minutes before succumbing to water.
Unfortunately for other wireless users, the Xperia Z1S will be exclusive to T-Mobile when it arrives on store shelves on January 22nd. Users will be able to pre-order the Xperia Z1S beginning January 13th. Buyers won’t need to put any money down when for the device initially, they’ll simply be on the hook for 24 payments of $22. As T-Mobile doesn’t offer two-year service agreements, financing for devices on the network are handled separately from the cost of their monthly plan.
The PS4 costs $499.
