AT&T One X Android 4.2 Update Release Date Gets Specific Adam Mills01/14/2014 HTC says that the long awaited AT&T One X Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update with Sense 5, an update that figures to be the last major update for AT&T’s former flagship, is currently slated to roll out sometime next week and that the company will make that date concrete once it receives technical acceptance. Many months ago, back in August for those not keeping track, HTC rolled out the HTC One X Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5. Since then, AT&T owners have been waiting for their turn. HTC had said that the update would roll out at some point in January, along with the AT&T HTC One X+ Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update, though the company had been coy on details.Advertisement Today Mo Versi, HTC’s Executive Director of Product Management, stated that the company is currently targeting an HTC One X release date next week. Versi claims that the company is still waiting for technical approval but that the company is indeed hoping to finally get the update rolled out to owners in the second to last week of January. It’s not clear when the HTC One X+ Android 4.2 update will roll out though we imagine that it will likely come around the same time as the HTC One X update.Advertisement @AdrenalineJamal Hi Jamal, Target for One X is next week. Will advise once we receive technical acceptance. Thanks.Advertisement — Mo (@moversi) January 14, 2014 When the updates do arrive, they will not only bring some of the features found inside Android 4.2 but they will also bring the new Sense 5, the user interface that arrived with the HTC One back in April of last year. Sense 5 will come with a brand new look but also brand new features including HTC BlinkFeed. HTC Zoe will unfortunately not be on board. The Android 4.2 update for the AT&T HTC One X will be its last major Android update. HTC finally confirmed the bad news earlier this week, saying that the HTC One X+ and HTC One X would not be moving past Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5. That means that both Android 4.3 and Android 4.4 are both out.
