Jawbone UP24 Fitness Band Finally Gets Android Support

Published

on

The Jawbone UP24 lifestyle tracker and fitness band is one of the more popular fitness bands, even if it doesn’t have a screen or display like the new Samsung Gear Fit, and today it finally supports Android.

Previously exclusive to iOS, the Jawbone UP companion Android app was updated today on the Google Play Store with official Bluetooth 4.0 sync and support. Meaning all the features and lifestyle tracking is finally available to Android users. This is version 3.0 of the app, and has a few new things aside from official Android support.

The Jawbone UP24 fitness and health tracking band is packed full of features, is extremely powerful, yet very simple and elegant as it straps to your wrist. The app is clean and simply to understand, and the new 3.0 supports Android, support for 12 languages, and much more.

Not only does the UP24 track your steps and physical activities, but it also monitors sleep, food and drinks, calories, and even has a diet notebook built-in on the app for tracking what you eat. The new app can suggest earlier bedtimes to be more healthy and have more energy, and much more.

None of this is new, but having full support and syncing capabilities with Android certainly is. Something that was long overdue. Many moved to the Fitbit or other alternatives that worked on Android, while Jawbone took their time to move to Google’s mobile platform.

the Jawbone UP24 is still $149 for those interested, comes in two colors, and promises nearly 7 days of battery life and lifestyle tracking before it needs a charge.
