Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Release Rolls On Amidst Android 4.4

The Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates and their release situations remain unresolved as we inch deeper into the month of April and closer to the beginning of the Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat release and the end of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update release.

All the way back in October of last year, Samsung announced that it would be bringing Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates to the Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The updates would bring a collection of features to Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 users including Galaxy Gear support, Galaxy Knox for extra security and for Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 users, improvements from the Galaxy S4’s software that debuted months earlier.

In October, the Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update began rolling out and by late October, the update landed in the United States. Sprint and Verizon became the first to offer the big time update and soon, other carriers followed suit. By December, carriers in the United States had rolled out all of the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates. However, as we have pointed out, the roll out has treated others poorly.

Months after the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update’s initial deployment, there are many users who are still waiting for the update to arrive. In recent days, we’ve seen a number of updates emerge from the shadows. Optus, still hasn’t updated its Android update schedule but thanks to SamMobile, we know that it has deployed two of its missing Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates.

Both its Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3 3G Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates are apparently available right now, despite its schedule listing them as unreleased.

The Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update recently landed for a number of carriers including Orange in Switzerland, TPH in Portugal and H3G in the United Kingdom. Users on those carriers now have access to Galaxy Gear support, Samsung Knox and a number of other major upgrades that Samsung tacked onto the new software.

There are, however, updates that remain missing in action. Optus’ Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for its 4G model remains out of sight. The update will evidently still be released in mid-to-late April but as we inch deeper into the month, its release date remains unknown. Fortunately, the arrival of the Galaxy S3 3G Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is a good sign and it means that the carrier might be able to keep its promise to Galaxy S3 users.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is in a similar boat. While most carriers are focused on Android 4.4, others are focused on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Recently, the Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update landed in Columbia and it appears that Optus recently pushed out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for its Galaxy S4 4G model. The update is evidently available through Samsung Kies, the software that allows Galaxy users to install software manually through their PC.

Australian carrier Telstra is still in the midst of a predicament it seems. Three weeks ago, the carrier was forced to halt its Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update due to problems that the carrier and Samsung found during the roll out process. Users with Android 4.3 are complaining about an assortment of issues including GPS problems. Problem is, Telstra still hasn’t said when the update will redeploy, despite questions from worried Galaxy S4 owners.

These two updates are among the last Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates and when they do finally roll out, they will have arrived five months after the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates first started rolling out.

These developments come amidst the Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat roll out and rumors of a Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update release. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update has been rolling out since February and it has landed for every major carrier in the United States, except for Verizon. Verizon’s Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat release remains in the shadows as do releases for C Spire, Cricket and MetroPCS.

Galaxy S3

As for the Samsung Galaxy S3, the Galaxy S3’s Android 4.4 KitKat update is rumored for an arrival in late April or early May. Samsung still hasn’t attached a release date to the anticipated software but it’s clear that the update will be landing sometime in the next few weeks. The update is still a source of controversy given that Samsung still hasn’t confirmed the update for the 1GB version of the Galaxy S3.

And while several carriers have confirmed the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update for arrival, we still haven’t seen any foreign carriers confirm the Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update. French carrier SFR has confirmed Android updates through May but the Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update remains missing in action.

bro, your articles are a bunch of words with no actual news. I can’t believe you receive any clicks for such a shitty post. try writing something when there is actual news. No one here is looking for french software updates.

If I talk about Samsung or HTC, any updates from Android completely depends upon the carrier, unlike Nexus 5 where it is readily available. Well I am waiting for the news of availability of Android 4.4.3 version for my Nexus 5. Don’t know how long Google will take to launch this update. I am now becoming little frustrated and losing my patience. Earlier I have to put my device once in a day on wireless charging pad to keep it fully charged but now I have to make it thrice in a day. They should launch it soon otherwise I have to look for another alternative.

Could you have at least discussed SOME of the features of these updates instead of using so many words to say so much of nothing? Jeez… Waste of time and internet space…
