Xbox One, PS4 GTA 5 Release Date Appears

Published

When Rockstar announced the Xbox One, PC and PS4 GTA 5 game earlier this year consumers rejoiced, but there was no mention of a specific release. Now, three stores briefly showed a Xbox One, PC and PS4 GTA 5 release date for November.

Amazon, CoolShop and GameSeek both listed potential PS4 GTA 5 release date details in November, though Amazon pulled the information soon after it was discovered.

The only PC, Xbox One and PS4 GTA 5 release date that Rockstar provided was 2014, and the official pre-order page does not yet list a date. There was some speculation that we would get a definitive GTA 5 release date on Xbox One and PS4 at the GamesCom conference going on this week, but there was no official appearance or announcement.

The PC, PS4 & Xbox One GTA 5 release is confirmed and pre-orders start today.

The PC, PS4 & Xbox One GTA 5 release is confirmed for 2014, but the specific date remains a mystery.

The Xbox One and PS4 Grand Theft Auto 5 release will take place on November 7th, according to GameSeek. This is a Friday, and while games in the U.S. typically arrive on a Tuesday, Fridays are common for European release dates. A good example of this is the FIFA 15 release date which arrives in the U.S. on September 23rd and on Friday September 26th in the UK.

GameSeek still lists a GTA 5 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC for November 7th, but there is a chance this is only a placeholder.

Retailers tease a Xbox One and PS4 GTA 5 release date.

Amazon Germany is frequently the source of leaked release details and the  Xbox One and PS4 GTA 5 release date is also in November according to the brief appearance on Amazon that listed the Xbox One GTA 5 release date as November 14th. This is also a Friday, which makes sense for the German branch of Amazon. Xboxygen spotted this brief appearance.

Yet another retailer also lists the PC GTA 5 release date as November 14th. Danish retailer CoolShop briefly listed the GTA 5 release date for PS4 and Xbox One, spotted by PCGamerThe retailer since took down the date and replaced it with a December 31st placeholder.

The PC GTA 5 release date is also listed as November 14th, by another retailer.

As for the U.S. PC, Xbox One and PS4 GTA 5 release date, we still have not real details. GameStop and Best Buy list the release date as un-announced and will likely do so until Rockstar makes an official announcement. Assuming these three retailers are not simply putting up a release placeholder around the same time the U.S. GTA 5 release date for PS4 and Xbox One could come on November 4th or November 11th. Both of these dates are crowded with anticipated games, which could leave little money in gamer pockets for buying a new version of GTA 5.

  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – November 4th
  • The Crew – November 11th
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection – November 11th

These games follow a busy September and October that includes FFIA 15, NHL 15, Destiny, Forza Horizon 2, DriveClub, NBA LIVE, NBA 2k15, WWE 2K15 and many others.

A comparison shows the Xbox One and PS4 GTA 5 release includes enhanced graphics that show more detail than the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions did. On top of the updated single p[layer universe, GTA Online is coming to the new consoles as well. Players can bring their GTA Online progress from Xbox 360 and PS3 to the new consoles, but there is no deal to help with the price.

GTA 5 for PS4 and Xbox One is $59.99, and it is too early for any trade in deals. We could see GameStop offer better prices or possibly a repeat of the Madden 15 deal that pays $35 for the Madden 25 trade in at Best Buy to help ease the price of upgrading.
