As Nexus 6 rumors continue to swirl, enthusiasts continue to match the rumored Nexus up against current devices and a new Nexus 6 photo depicts a real life model next to the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 7.
Nexus 6 rumors have been pushing potential hardware features, release dates and Android software features to consumers ahead of launch. And as we moved deeper into the fall, Nexus 6 rumors have begun to firm up around certain details. Some of the firmest Nexus 6 rumors pertain to its display size and at this point, a dramatic change in size is all but confirmed for this year’s Nexus 6 release.
In the past few days, we’ve heard about the dramatic change that Google and this year’s Nexus manufacturer, Motorola, are expected to make with this year’s Nexus 6 release. Rumors center around a massive, high-resolution Nexus smartphone that features a number of high-end hardware specifications, Android L, and a massive Quad HD display. Rumors have firmed on a large 5.9-inch display, far bigger than the Nexus 5′s 5-inch display and a size that has some consumers worried.
While we wait for Google to make its inevitable Android L and Nexus announcements, enthusiasts are taking it upon themselves to deliver early Nexus 6 comparisons to current devices, all in effort to show how big a 5.9-inch Nexus might look compared to the opposition. We’ve seen it matched up with the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus and now, someone has taken it a step further.
A Reddit user used the supposed Nexus 6 dimensions we passed along yesterday to carve out a real-life Nexus 6 model made out of wood. The wood Nexus 6 model uses probable dimensions including a 9mm thin frame and it’s scaled to look similar to the Motorola Nexus that’s thought to be in development behind the scenes.
These new Nexus 6 photos show what the upcoming 5.9-inch Nexus 6 could look like next to the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 7. The Nexus 4 is in possession of a 4.7-inch display while the Nexus 7 owns a much larger 7-inch display. The Nexus 6 is clearly going to be much larger than the Nexus 4 though the size difference between the Nexus 7 and Nexus 6 is much more noticeable.
What’s more interesting is that these photos depict just how a 5.9-inch Nexus 6 could fit in someones hand. One-handed use is key to any good smartphone and with a 5.9-inch display, consumers are worried about the impact it might have. It may not be an exact look but these dimensions could be comparable to the actual Nexus 6 specs.
Google still hasn’t announced a Nexus 6 launch date though rumors and leaks suggest that we’re close. Android developer Paul O’Brien claims the new Nexus 9 and Android L will be announced on October 15th. The Nexus 6 is expected to debut alongside the Nexus 9 and Android L so that date, or one around it, could potentially prove fruitful.
Nexus 6 rumors point to some serious firepower in both the hardware and software departments and it’s that firepower that could help this new Nexus smartphone compete against the likes of the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus.

That remains unconfirmed at this point though we should see leaks continue up until Google’s announcement.
