How to Find the iPhone 6 in Stock at Local Stores

Ever since the release of the iPhone 6 last month, the device has been on backorder, with many users saying that it’d be a couple of weeks before they would receive their units. However, a new online tool now tells you which stores have the iPhone 6 in stock.

It’s not too surprising that the iPhone 6 is seeing high demand. Apple always seems to sell a lot of iPhones every year when a new model comes out, and more and more consumers are taking advantage of the latest iPhone with each new year.

We’re now a couple weeks after the iPhone 6 launch and there are still buyers looking to get their hands on Apple’s new smartphone, and a new online tool should help those looking to get one in-store.

It’s called iStockNow and it shows a map of every single Apple Store in the US and which stores have the iPhone 6 in stock and which ones do not. The map can even show Best Buy and Target locations that have the new device in stock.

At the top you can filter out certain iPhone 6 models and only show stores that have a certain iPhone 6 variant in stock, which is super helpful if you’re looking for a specific color or storage size. You can even enter in your zip code to see what the closest stores have in stock.

The developer claims that the map updates in real-time, so what you’re seeing is a live look at what stores have the iPhone 6 in stock right now.

One thing to be aware of with Target is that buyers won’t be able to buy an iPhone 6 Plus outright, but will instead have to tack it onto a contract, which means you can’t buy the device at full retail price without a contract. This is probably because the device is in such low stock, and the store wants to keep away from resellers.

It’s also probably a good idea to call your local Target store just to make sure that the iPhone 6 is in stock, even if the tool says it is. However, when doing a search myself, pretty much all of the Target locations in my area said that they had the iPhone 6 in stock.

Of course, it depends what color and storage size you want, but we’re guessing the 16GB flavors will go fast, while the higher-capacity models may sell slower.

From looking at the map, it seems that most stores have the iPhone 6 in stock, and this could be a sign that Apple is quickly getting more units in stock to sell to consumers, especially since many buyers are seeing their back-ordered iPhone 6 units shipping earlier than originally quoted.

The iPhone 6 Plus has been under a lot of controversy lately, with many users reporting that the larger device bends while in their pockets, and many people are proving that the phone can bend under the force of their own hands. Of course, this has triggered the popular “Bendgate” term, and Apple has been under a lot of fire because of this apparent design flaw with the larger iPhone.

Of course, Apple says that it will replace iPhone 6 units that become bent, so there’s really nothing you should worry about as far as your warranty goes. Plus, you shouldn’t have to worry about something like this happening anyway, as it looks to be a rare instance that has only affected a small fraction of iPhone 6 units so far.

Apple says that the iPhone 6 bending is “extremely rare” during normal use, which probably explains why there have only been nine official complaints out of the 10 million iPhone 6 units that were sold over opening weekend, with that number growing as more and more iPhone 6 devices continue to sell.

Since the attention of the issue started to gain steam, YouTubers began to post videos of iPhone 6 units bending, and there’s even a video that shows a user actually physically trying to get his iPhone 6 Plus to bend. Spoiler alert: it bent. Frankly, I’m surprised the phone didn’t snap in half due to the amount of pressure and force he was applying. In that case, the device held up quite well.
