Motorola and Verizon took to Twitter to remind users that this is an over the air update, and it will arrive in the next 24-48 hours on your device and be a quick and painless update. Of course, you can also head into settings > about phone > and tap check for updates to get it right now.

The Moto X Android 5.0 update is quite large, so it’s recommended that users download and install the software upgrade over WiFi, to save their data. This is one of the first smartphones in the United States to see the update, so enjoy it.

We’re still waiting on more news from AT&T and others who are carrying the new Moto X 2014 edition, and should be hearing more soon. AT&T was quick to deliver it last year, so expect something within the next few weeks.
