Published

Early this morning the LG G4 release date was officially announced with the global release kicking off later this week in key markets around the globe, but there was no mention of a US release date. With more than 180 carriers and retailers on board the G4 release looks to be promsing.

On April 28th LG took the stage in New York City and unveiled the new LG G4 after months of rumors, speculation and small teasers by LG themselves, and it has received a lot of praise since the unveiling. In fact, it received a Gotta Be Mobile Editors’ Choice Award and you can learn more in our full review below.

As we all know, ever since the initial launch date LG and carriers in the United States have been silent regarding when it will be available from US carriers, and today we’re still left with that question unanswered. That said, read on for all we know about the G4 release.

The press release from LG this morning states that the LG G4 release date will officially begin this week globally, with the smartphone being available in Hong Kong before the end of the week. Then, a release will follow in Turkey, Russia and Singapore, and eventually including most of Europe, North America and more.

They mention “eventually North America” which is our carriers, meaning we have no new details regarding the release date in the United States. The LG G4 is coming to Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular, and T-Mobile even has an early preview going on now letting a few thousand lucky consumers try the latest LG phone out ahead of the release date.

While a release in the United States still hasn’t been announced, T-Mobile may have prematurely shared all the information. Last week the official T-Mobile LG G4 Preview Twitter account accidentally posted June 2nd it would be in stores, but quickly deleted that tweet and stated it is coming soon instead.

This means most in the US can look forward to June 2nd being the release date, at least on T-Mobile, and other carriers will likely launch the phone on the same day, a few days later, or in the coming weeks.

LG continues by stating the LG G4 will arrive in Southeast Asia, Middle East/Africa and South/Central America, CIS and more from over 180 carriers or retailers around the globe. Making the LG G4 the biggest release in LG Mobile history.

As a reminder the LG G4 comes with a big and bright 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, a powerful 6-core processor and 3GB of RAM for fast and fluid performance for daily use, a 16 megapixel f1.8 camera that delivers some of the best photos of any Android phone we’ve used to date, a large 3,000 mAh battery, micro-SD slot for expandable storage, and six different color handmade genuine leather backs along with the standard plastic in White, Gold, and Titanium silver.

More details regarding a release date in the United States should be coming soon from each individual carrier, starting with pre-orders, and we will update the moment we have more information.
