Gears of War Xbox One Release: 5 Things to Know

Published

on

Its been more than two years since the release of Gears of War: Judgement and fans of the series are itching for a new installment. With E3 2015 coming up and a Gears of War Xbox One release confirmed for the future, we want to take a look at what you need to know, right now, about an Xbox One Gears of War release.

In 2013, Epic Games released its fourth Gears of War title dubbed Gears of War: Judgement. The game was released for the Xbox 360, Microsoft’s last-gen console. In the two years since Judgement’s release, we’ve seen a number of new details emerge including Microsoft’s purchase of the Gears of War franchise.

Microsoft bought the rights to the franchise in early 2014 and confirmed that a new game would be developed by Black Tusk Studios, a division within Microsoft.

Since then, we’ve seen a number of new details emerge including information regarding a Gears of War Xbox One release. Earlier this year, Microsoft confirmed plans to bring a Gears of War title to the Xbox One. The game will evidently not come to the Xbox 360 as Microsoft shifts focus to its current-gen console.

While fans of the series are hopeful for a full blown Gears of War 4 release for Xbox One, that may not be the next game in the pipeline. Gears of War Remastered rumors continue to emerge ahead of E3 2015 and naturally, Xbox One users are starting to get excited.

With that in mind, we want to take a look at what we know about the Gears of War Xbox One release and run down some of the key details that we’ve seen emerge. These are the details that prospective buyers need to know about in June.

Microsoft hasn't confirmed anything yet but the writing is on the wall.

For several months we've seen Gears of War Remastered release rumors emerge including a listing on a Brazilian game rating website that teased the name "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition". That may not be the name of the game.

We've seen numerous leaks and numerous reports outline this game in 2015 and given that Microsoft's already confirmed a Gears of War release for Xbox One, fans of the series should be confident in an Xbox One Gears of War launch this year.

We still haven't heard anything about a Gears of War Xbox One release date for the Remastered version of the game though it could only be a matter of days before we find out more.

That’s great and all, but I really hope Microsoft releases Xbox One with a 1 TB harddrive for now on…my daughter has the 500 GB harddrive and I had to buy her a Seagate 2TB external harddrive…which i don’t mind…but i want at least 1 TB Harddrive when I buy myself one!

I hope they reveal that its all 3 original gears games remastered. (Judgement doesnt count). If its only Gears 1 it better not be more than 10 bucks. (Insert laughter here)
