Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, last year’s hit entry in the long-running Call of Duty first-person shooter franchise is getting its last piece of major downloadable content. For gamers the release of Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Reckoning release date will mark a huge shift for the way they game too.

Video game publisher Activision announced the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Reckoning release date this week. On August 4th Xbox One and Xbox 360 users will be able to download Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Reckoning directly from the Xbox Store. Microsoft has an exclusivity agreement that gives its platforms early access before downloadable content arrives for Sony’s PS4 consoles.

It’s that agreement that make this last piece of Call of Duty Advanced Warfare content so symbolic. Sony and Activision revealed at E3 2015 that from this year on, the PS4 and PS3 will get downloadable content for games in the franchise ahead of the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Reckoning will cost $14.99 when it arrives. Included in it are four new maps for users who enjoy multiplayer gaming: Overloard, Quarantine, Fracture and Swarm.

Overload takes place in New Baghdad around Atlas’ home base and research facility. Activision and video game developer Sledgehammer are teasing Overload as a high-energy, long-range multiplayer map. Really, it sounds like a haven for snipers. Quarantine takes players to a biological warfare testing center where an outbreak has decimated he population. This map has a missile system that starts firing once a team has a score streak going. Fracture is set on a glacier as a giant sheet of ice begins to break. Swarm is set in Seoul, South Korea among the ruins of where the game’s campaign begins. It’s tailor made for close combat.

Sledgehammer games has released episodes of its Exo Zombies story since the first Call of Duty Advanced Warfare downloadable content pack arrived. With Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Reckoning the developer ends the saga. Starting Bill Paxton, Bruce Campbell, John Malkovich, Jon Bernthal and Rose McGowan.

Anyone who has the Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Season Pass gets Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Reckoning at no additional charge. Anyone who purchases the season pass now gets users all the content released for the game already. If Activision stays true to form, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Reckoning will arrive for the PS3 and PS4 in a month’s time.

Some speculate that Microsoft decided to step away from its deal with Activision for Call of Duty content this year because it wanted to focus on its own stable of first-party video games. Microsoft is betting heavily on first-party titles and games that are only launching on its console this fall.

There won’t be any specific benefit to buying the Xbox One version of Call of Duty Black Ops 3, but the Xbox One will be the only console that offers Halo 5: Guardians. The company also snagged an exclusive release agreement for Square Enix’s Rise of the Tomb Raider. Forza Motorsport 6 is also coming to the Xbox One this holiday.

By comparison, the PS4 has a pretty stiff third-party line-up that could easily overwhelm the Xbox One’s lineup. A promotional deal means that every time users see anything about Star Wars Battlefront they’ll also see a PS4 logo. That’s in addition to the Call of Duty Black Ops 3 deal. Plus, PS4 gamers who wait long enough will get to play Rise of the Tomb Raider when it comes to PS4 late in 2016.
