iPad iOS 9 Release: 5 Things to Expect

Apple’s confirmed an iOS 9 update for all iPad models capable of running iOS 8. And as we bear down on the iPhone 6s launch date, it’s clear that we’re getting close to an iOS 9 release. Today, we take a look at a few things to expect from the iPad iOS 9 release and release date.

At WWDC 2015, Apple confirmed a number of new products. A new Apple Music platform that arrived with iOS 8.4 in late June. An OS X El Capitan update that will hit Macs sometime this fall. And an iOS 9 update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that will replace iOS 8 and deliver some significant change.

As the weeks have progressed, iPad users have grown more excited about the iOS 9 release. And for good reason. Not only will be coming with some big time features and enhancements, it will allow owners of aging models like the iPad 2 and iPad mini to prolong an upgrade.

When You'll Get Official iPad iOS 9 Details

If you're excited about the iPad iOS 9 update, you're going to want to tune into Apple's live stream on September 9th. There we expect the company to outline several key iPad iOS 9 release details including features and a release date.

Apple's confirmed a September 9th media event in San Francisco though the company is mum about what it will be announcing. The iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and Apple TV 4 will almost certainly be the stars of the show though the iOS 9 will likely play a supporting role.

Apple always reminds people about its new iOS software at its iPhone events and we expect nothing less from the company next week. Look for Apple to outline key features coming to the iPad (we'd expect it to detail multitasking again) and expect it to offer a firm iOS 9 release date for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

The company's live stream starts at 10AM so you'll want to tune in if you didn't receive an invite from Apple in the mail.
