The biggest new feature you will see on OS X 10.11.1 is the new emoji options that arrived for the iPhone and iPad with iOS 9.1.

Apple adds support for over 150 new emojis on OS X 10.11.1. You don't need to download any extra apps or keyboards to use the new emoji which include a range of categories.

There is a middle finger emoji, burrito, taco, spider, robot, unicorn and many others that are now available using the built-in emoji keyboard on OS X El Capitan.

Most users will see the keyboard in Messages, with the smile face option on the right of the text area. If you send these to people who are not on OS X 10.11.1 they will not see the new emojis.
