10 Things to Know About the iPhone 4s iOS 9.2.1 Update

Published

on

The iPhone 4s recently got another update and today we want to take a look at the most important things to know about the iPhone 4s iOS 9.2.1 release.

The fossil known as the iPhone 4s continues to get updates from Apple and the latest is the iOS 9.2.1 update that rolled out in mid-January.

The iOS 9.2.1 update is out of Apple’s beta process and it’s available for iPhone 4s models around the world. As expected, it’s a tiny update though it’s one that could have a big impact on your iPhone 4s’ performance.

iOS 9.2.1 is much smaller than the iOS 9.2 update that came before it. It doesn’t come with new features but it does come with one important bug fix for enterprise users and security patches that plug up some potential exploits. It’s small but it’s important and it should be on your radar if you own an iPhone 4s.

Today, we want to take a look at the iPhone 4s iOS 9.2.1 update. This roundup takes a look at the update’s performance, some of the problems that’ve emerged for iPhone 4s users, and a look at an update that could follow in iOS 9.2.1’s footsteps.

Keep all of these things in mind as we push deeper into the new year.

iPhone 4s iOS 9.2.1 Reviews

iPhone 4s iOS 9.2.1 reviews are in and opinions about Apple's latest iOS 9 update are (per usual) pretty mixed.

Some users have noticed performance improvements after making the move to the iOS 9.2.1 update. It appears that some apps load faster with iOS 9.2.1 on board. Other users are reporting stable battery life, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Other users are reporting problems with lag. Spotlight search and Control Center continue to lag for some iPhone 4s users.

While the iOS 9.2.1 update might improve on iOS 9.2, those who are still on older updates like iOS 8.4.1 are taking a risk moving to Apple's latest iOS 9 update.

There's no way to go back to anything not called iOS 9.2.1 once you install iOS 9.2.1 so those of you on older firmware will need to be extremely careful. If you aren't feeling overly confident, you can opt to wait for Apple's next iOS update which will probably be iOS 9.3.

Some users are actually experiencing the placebo effect. Not performance improvements. I have noticed nothing at all. I bet not one ounce of time ever went into any performance fixes.
