February Star Wars Battlefront Update: 5 Reasons to Get Excited

Published

on

EA and DICE have a February Star Wars Battlefront update on the way. Ahead of the imminent release date, we want to take a look at five things we’re excited about.

Star Wars Battlefront still has problems. Gamers are still complaining about its lack of depth and problems that are plaguing the title on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. EA and DICE are working hard to address these concerns and companies are off to a hot start in 2016.

In January, the companies announced Star Wars Battlefront DLC details including three expansion packs set for release in 2016. EA and DICE also detailed free Star Wars Battlefront updates including a monster update that rolled out in January.

The January Star Wars Battlefront update is live and it includes bug fixes, tweaks to weapons and heroes and new features for all three platforms. It’s a substantial update but like the game itself, it’s far from perfect.

It’s a good thing EA and DICE are prepping another major Battlefront update for this month.

Update: The February Star Wars Battlefront update is out.

The February Star Wars Battlefront update release date is now confirmed for tomorrow morning with EA and DICE outlining downtime for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The companies haven’t confirmed a specific change log just yet but we expect that soon. An imminent release isn’t the only thing you should be excited about though.

While we wait for EA and DICE to outline a specific change log we want to take a look at a few of the things we’re excited about.

A-Wing Improvements

A-Wing Improvements

Tons of people have been complaining about the A-Wing hit box and shield ramming in games. We've seen other complaints but these two appear to be the loudest.

EA and DICE introduced a number of changes in the January update but they didn't address the problems with the A-Wing. Fortunately, the developers have been listening and it looks like the February update will sort out some of these problems.

EA says that "the team is working to bring a lot of these fixes in our February update." The companies haven't outlined the fixes in detail but once DICE developer has said that the company will address the hit box issues at the very least. It's clear that it's a priority and that's exciting.

The company is encouraging user feedback about the A-Wing and its other starfighters and those who are seeing problems with balance and bugs should report back as soon as possible so EA and DICE can get things squared away with its next major update.

That's one thing to get excited about. There's more.

What this game needs is a Campaign mode. I was so hoping it would have one, but its just another PvP, and frankly when you are not the greatest at using a controller, it gets frustrating getting sniped by higher level gamers to the point I turn it off and go back to Destiny. Maybe a 6v6 matchup, fewer players on the map would make it better, at least give us a choice of how many opponents we want to face off against. Graphics are one thing, but game play, if it is too frustrating, makes the game not so good.

hahahaha, learn how to play the game newb. It reminds me somewhat of Halo but a Star Wars version. Again, learn how to play (or read the review regarding no campaign and don’t waste your money? simple)

This is dumb, cause why would we need an xp boost when most of the players are already max lvl?!?!?

In case you hadn’t noticed, there are already hoth maps for walker assault AND FS. Not sure why we need two hoth maps for these game modes …

Need to have split screen multiple player. It stinks when you can’t play with someone at the house online.

Ea need to fix this silly bad connection to the server game will be unplayable issue in yellow/red writing. It appears almost every MP session on Xbox One. There’s nothing wrong with my internet! Try flying a vehicle & have this happen to you! KABOOM!! Cheap servers & the players suffer for it! You don’t get any of this with COD. I still love SWBF though. Is anyone else having these issues? I’m not getting this game cause it doesn’t have single player

EA is working with Visceral Games to make an open world Star Wars game, which should satisfy your list for singleplayer. Bioware might make a game too, but don’t quote me on that. There’s plenty of games planned for the future, so get amped!

102,187 hours. very cool. if you never sleep or stop playing, you’ll get a spiffy new Leia costume in just over 11 years.

I have yet to come across an online publication that speaks about the real problem plaguing this game… match-making. I’m pretty tired of reading articles that acknowledge there have been issues, then hype the upcoming update, which usually results in nothing more than nerfing or buffing weapons. Stop it! If we can’t play the game because the match-making system is so horrendously horrible, then what’s the point?!? EA/DICE needs to be held accountable for this gaming atrocity. Write about that.

Hey Dice! My only problem with battlefront 3 is that in Walker Assault I seems to me that the rebels have a far greater chance the empire to win. I suggest raising the damage to the Walkers just a tad.

    Its a community challenge. 102,187 hours combined……
Also need to address team balance issues

This game was released half finished so the makers could make as much money as possible releasing it in line with the film. Battlefront 2 was such a brilliant game in comparison this is total cr@p.
