Are You Ready For WiFi In A Car?

Avis and AutoNet Mobile are getting ready to announce a new product that turns your car into a rolling WiFi hotspot. Apparently rental customers can spring for the service for $10.95 a day and AutoNet Mobile hopes family vehicles will be the next target market with the device costing $399 and of course a monthly service fee. As this New York Times article points out it does raise some interesting issues about people’s focus while driving, so we’ll have to see how this shakes out.
