Barnes & Noble Offers Free Wi-Fi
Barnes & Noble announced that it’s giving away free books yesterday and today announced that each of its stores will have free Wi-Fi access. Wireless net access is provided by AT&T, which charges a per-use fee for non-subscribers. The move to free is an attempt to raise awareness that Barnes & Noble is down with the whole e-delivery thing.
Of course free Wif-Fi should bring a few more people in the door, but I wonder how many will bother to visit a bookstore to buy an eBook.

About time. Here they’re in malls steps away from free wi-fi and coffee. Not sure who thought it helped whom, but it didn’t get anyone I know to sign up with ATT. Always seemed silly watching people’s roll their eyes and walk out of the store.
