How to Turn Off iPhone Vibrations for Phone Calls
When you put your iPhone in silent mode, it may still vibrate when you receive phone calls or text messages. Here’s how to turn off iPhone vibrations for phone calls and make your iPhone completely silent.
Whether you’re going into a meeting or into a movie theater to catch the latest flick, you probably flip your iPhone into silent mode. However, you might notice that your iPhone still vibrates whenever you receive a phone call or text message.
It’s certainly not as bad as the alert sounding off, but vibrations can still be pretty loud and annoying.

By default, when you put your iPhone in silent mode, it will still vibrate, so what do you have to do to put your iPhone completely in silent mode so that it won’t vibrate either? It turns out there’s another toggle that you have to change in the settings so that the vibrations go into silent mode as well, and not just the sounds.
So if you want to put your iPhone in a true silent mode state, here’s how to turn off iPhone vibrations for phone calls and text messages.
How to Turn Off iPhone Vibrations
If you put your iPhone in silent mode and are still wondering why it’s vibrating when you receive a phone call or a text message, there are likely a couple of settings that needed changed around so that your iPhone actually goes into a true silent mode.
First off, go into the Settings app and then select Sounds. At the top, you’ll see a setting called Vibrate on Silent, which will likely be turned on. Simply just flip the toggle off to prevent your iPhone from vibrating while in silent mode.
If it’s still vibrating in silent mode even after you turned off this feature, it’s likely that you still have a vibration associated with your ringtone or text tone. but you can easily fix this as well.
Go into Settings > Sounds, scroll down and tap on Ringtone. Scroll up to the top if you need to and make sure Vibration is set to None. If it isn’t, tap on it and then select None at the bottom. Go back and do this for the Text Tone as well.
From now on, whenever you put your iPhone in silent mode, the device will no longer vibrate. Your screen will still light up whenever you receive a phone call or a text message, but it won’t vibrate.
