If you’re carrying around precious data that you don’t want to get destroyed, the SanDisk Extreme 510 is a new solid-state storage drive that offers really fast transfer speeds, as well as ruggedness that can physically protect your data.
This means that any accidental drops or bumps won’t mean the end of the world for your precious data, so if you’re a photographer who needs to protect all of your photos while you transport them, the Extreme 510 can do that without a fuss.
The drive is also water-resistant and dust-resistant, and while it isn’t completely waterproof by any means, it can at least take a few splashes of water without any hassle.
It’s not USB-C compatible, but it does come with USB 3.0, which provides up to 430MB/s transfer speeds, so it should be plenty fast for photographers and videographers alike.
SanDisk also announced that its Connect wireless flash drive, which lets you you access files wirelessly, will be available in a 200GB storage capacity. Users can use the SanDisk Connect app to transfer data between the flash drive and their iPhone or Android device, as well as their Mac or PC.
The 200GB option is available now to purchase for $119.
Lastly, the company also announced the world’s thinnest 1TB solid state drive, which measures in at only 1.5mm thick. The X400, as it’s called, provides quick transfer speeds, as well as improves battery life for laptops sporting the new drive, compared to other solid state drives.
