GoPros have built-in microphones to record audio, but its not the best quality. Plus, if you have a case on your GoPro, that case is going to cover the microphone port, resulting in muffled audio.

A way to fix this is to get an external microphone and connect it to your Go Pro. You could something as simple as a lavalier mic and buy an adapter for it so that you can attach it to your GoPro.
