10 Things to Know About the iPad iOS 9 Update

Last Wednesday, Apple released its iOS 9 update for iPad. We continue to see new and important details emerge and today we want to take a look at the most important things current and prospective users need to know about the iPad iOS 9 release.

In June, Apple announced that it would deliver an iOS 9 update to iPad users in the fall. It didn’t confirm a specific release date but it did outline which iPad models would be getting the bump up to the company’s new operating system.

Included on the list were obvious choices like the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. Apple also confirmed that it would be rolling the update out to older devices like the iPad 3, original iPad mini and yes, even the iPad 2. The iOS 9 update represents the iPad 2’s fifth major iOS upgrade.

Last week, Apple finally rolled out its iOS 9 update for all compatible iPad models bringing new features and enhancements to its popular slates.

Tons of iPad users have installed the iOS 9 update already. We don’t blame them. The update brings, among other things, some powerful new multitasking features including Split-View and the Picture and Picture option.

Others are still on the fence and we suspect that there are others that are just now hearing about the iOS 9 update for the first time. Installing a new update on a device is a big decision, especially if the device is old like the iPad 2.
