Before you hand over your money, know that at least some of the features in the Fallout 4 Contraptions Workshop DLC are available, for free, via Fallout 4 mods.

There are tons of examples but we'll give you two. If you head over to Nexus Mods, you'll find two excellent alternatives for the PC.

The first is Craftable Elevators. The other is Functional Displays. Both are extremely well done and they're comparable to the official versions in the Contraptions Workshop DLC.

Something to keep in mind before you commit cash to the PC (or console) version of the second Workshop DLC.
