Verizon iPhone 4 Issues Documented by Consumer Reports

Published

on

Several people have pointed out that the Verizon version of the iPhone 4 suffers from the same antenna issue we saw on the AT&T iPhone 4, but Consumer Reports did some scientific testing to prove the issue in its lab.

The Verizon iPhone 4 has a redesigned antenna layout, but it’s still recommended to use a case for best results. Using any case, such as the iPhone bumper case all but eliminates the signal issues Consumer Reports documented.

Consumer Reports performed its tests in a controlled lab shielded from other radio signals. You can read more about the tests over at the Consumer Reports Blog.

I agree, free cases for all iPhone 4’s should be given away at place of purchase.

Consumer Reports are geeks who criticize VZW anytime they get a chance. It works perfectly fine.

Consumer Reports is a joke of an organization. Sites like this only re-report this to get hits. As many have stated in the other comments there are no problems. Plus Consumer Reports said that the phone MIGHT drop calls. They never even proved that it would. They just made that statement based on the signal drop. I do not trust Consumer Reports with anything they test. I do my own research based on consumer experience with products.

It’s basically the same iPhone on VZW as AT&T with the exception of CDMA va GSM. No surprise that the antenna issue still exists – and consumer reports is not the only one to report it. Plenty of blogs and other users noted the same issue as soon as the iPhone was available on VZW. I’m on VZW and agree the network is better than AT&T, I’m just waiting for the iPhone 5.

I am using the Verizon iPhone 4, and so far I don’t have any problem with this. And if some consumers are encountering the problems about the antenna, maybe it was just a humour on the other side. Certainly, iPhone offers good quality to the users. To protect the iPhone image and have the best result, provide your iPhone a case.

In every product there will be always be a negative impact on the consumer. When it comes to this verizon iPhone 4, I think many claimed that this is very useful but other think it is not. So far I haven’t use this product yet and will try one after reading some of its reviews.
