New Images of Symbian Belle-Powered Nokia 700 Zeta Leak Out

New images have emerged of a forthcoming Nokia smartphone, called the Nokia 700 Zeta, which will come pre-loaded with the Symbian^3 Belle software update. The device will take a departure from Nokia’s traditional smartphone naming convention–which is currently in series right now for the N, E, C, and X series–for a simpler three-number name. The phone had been leaked before and was described in said documents as being ‘thinnest and fast,’ showing an emphasis by Nokia on design to keep competitive with rival Android and iOS products.

According to The Nokia Blog, the Nokia 700 will feature a 3.2-inch AMOLED display–it’s unclear if this will be a traditional AMOLED display like that found on the Nokia N8 or the AMOLED Clear Black Display like that found on the current Nokia E7–along with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and an attractive styling. The Nokia 700 will also come with NFC technology along with a speedy 1 GHz processor.

The Nokia 700 will not be the first Symbian smartphone from Nokia to feature embedded near field communications technology, which could have implementation in digital and mobile wallets for payment, as the Nokia C7–also known as the T-Mobile Astound in the U.S.–is already shipping with NFC.
