Leaked Image Reveals 7-Inch Asus Eee Pad

Published

The details are still a bit on the light side but it would appear that Asus is gearing up to launch another Eee Pad model in the form of a 7-inch device as Notebook Italia has stumbled upon an image of what appears to be such a device. And with CES just around the corner, it appears that Asus might have another tablet option for those looking to snag a slate in the beginning stage of 2012.

Unfortunately, beyond the image, there is little else known about the device. Well, other than the fact that it has a much smaller screen then Asus’ current Eee Pad lineup which consists of 10-inchers.

Asus’ current next-gen 10-inch tablet, the Eee Pad Transformer Prime, is powered by a Tegra 3 processor so we have to imagine that the 7-inch device might boasts the same power as well.

Of course, nothing is set in stone here, but it appears that Asus might be preparing to announce this device at CES.

If all of this is true, it would give Asus a device to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, a device that is available in other parts of the world, but has yet to launch in the United States.

It would also give those that aren’t enamored with 10-inch plus screen sizes another very viable option, especially if it comes with a quad-core processor and an affordable price tag.

Luckily, it should only be a few days before we find out about the 7-inch Eee Pad for sure.
