Nokia Lumia 900 Appears in First Images?

Published

on

We have been waiting to catch a glimpse of the rumored Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone and it appears that the device that many have been waiting for has finally decided to show its face. A couple of days ago, Pocketnow posted images snagged from a Christmas card from one of Microsoft’s partners. That image depicts a phone that, oddly enough, doesn’t appear to be a phone that Nokia has released yet.

So what is it?

It appears that it’s the Nokia Ace aka Nokia Lumia 900, a device that should be heading to AT&T’s 4G LTE network in the weeks ahead. Oops. The image doesn’t reveal too much but it does give us a pretty good look at the unofficial device.

There are some other things to note as well.

Nokia Lumia 900

You can very clearly see the front-facing camera, something not found on the Lumia 800, and you can also see that the device has AT&T branding as well as a 4G logo in the upper left corner.

And while we now have a clear image of what we think is the Nokia Lumia 900, it’s unclear as to when Nokia will be announcing it. Signs point to a possible launch at CES with a release pegged for March 18th, 2012.

The Nokia Lumia 900 should be the second Windows Phone to hit the United States. The honor of first on shelves will be going to T-Mobile’s Nokia Lumia 710 which is already set for a launch on January 11th for the low price of $49 on-contract.

While the phone itself looks great and the rumored specs are fantastic, for me it is ruined by the fact that it is a Windows phone.  Can’t stand the Windows UI.  Plus it just doesn’t have near the apps iOS and Android have.  I guess there are those that like it.

Great, there’s plenty of us that will take the one you won’t get. At least the UI isn’t a legacy collection of meaningless icons and actually helps in integrating apps with functions. As for apps, 50,000 is way more than anyone could ever need. Don’t really care about 250,000 flying pigs.

You are right. On my iPad, I have only 70 apps. I really don’t need over 1 million apps on my Lumia 900. :)
I’m waiting for this beautiful Lumia 900. :)

I too was waiting for the Lumia 900 until I heard there may be a Lumia 910 with a 12 mp camera :)
I love the Windows UI btw, very clean and I would spend less time digging through the Android/iPhone UI to find the app I want.
