Microsoft Stores Now Taking Pre-Orders for AT&T Lumia 900 LTE

Microsoft retail stores are now beginning to take customer pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 900, which will be headed to AT&T’s 4G LTE network upon release. The Windows Phone 7 Mango smartphone was initially announced at the Consumer Electronics Show last month and has attracted a lot of attention as it will be one of two debut Windows Phone 7 devices to come with 4G LTE support.

According to reports, Microsoft is asking for a $25 deposit to be placed on the pre-order list. When customers place their pre-orders, they will have to state which model they prefer–a cyan blue version or a black version. Other than that, no additional information was given as to the specific release date or pricing.

The Lumia 900 comes with a non-PenTile AMOLED display, which should make images and text appear crisper on the device’s 4.3-inch display when compared to the PenTile-based display of the Lumia 800. While aesthetically, both devices are similar, the Lumia 900 lacks a curved glass display and opts for a flat glass panel.

The phone has been rumored in the past to come in at under $100 with a two-year contract and is speculated to be available starting March 18.
