Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE Comes to Sprint on August 19 for $199.99
Motorola’s newest phone, the Photon Q 4G LTE is coming to Sprint in just one week for $199.99.
The new Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE uses Android 4.0 like other recent Motorola smartphones, but unlike those other phones, this one offers a full five-row QWERTY keyboard. The QWERTY keyboard looks just like the one offered on the Verizon Droid 4. In fact, a lot of the Photon Q 4G LTE’s design looks like the Droid 4.
The big difference between the Photon Q 4G LTE and the Droid 4 is the former runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich complete with virtual buttons. The new smartphone also has a skin that looks just like the one on the Atrix HD.
Inside the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a rear-facing 8MP camera that can shoot 1080p video, and a front-facing camera for video chat. The screen is 4.3-inches and uses Motorola’s ColorBoost technology with a qHD resolution (960×540).
Sprint charges $199.99 for the new smartphone, and it will arrive in stores on August 19. Users who pre-order the phone online may receive it as early as two days before, on August 17. Two days isn’t a huge difference, especially not when the phone is just one week away, but it’s a nice perk for pre-orders.
Like every smartphone on Sprint, the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE comes with an unlimited data plan on both 3G and 4G LTE. The carrier doesn’t have a large 4G LTE network yet, but it is working on it. The network is already live in 15 cities, and will come to at least four more by Labor Day.
