Black Galaxy S III Shipping in 4-6 Weeks in UK
We had previously reported about sightings of a black color variant of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S III smartphone and now UK retailer Mobile Fun is confirming that the color variant is in fact legitimate. Currently, the Galaxy S III is available in either Marble White or Pebble Blue colors with U.S. carrier AT&T adding a Garnet Red variant. The black edition would be the fourth Galaxy S III color to debut.
According to Mobile Fun, the black version will be available contract-free in the UK for £499.95 and the phone would be in stock and shipping in four to six weeks according to Phandroid. The pricing reflects the 16 GB model. The Samsung Galaxy S III is available in either 16, 32, or 64 GB capacities and all models come with a microSD card slot for expandable memory.
While the color has changed to a stealthier shade, the internals of the black edition remain the same as the other variants, including the quad-core Exynos CPU.
Samsung had stated in the past that it would be making its smartphone available in additional colors in the future, so this should not be surprising news.
At this time, it’s unclear if Samsung would be bringing this additional color selection to any U.S. carriers. The Samsung Galaxy S III is available on all four national carriers in the U.S. in addition to a few regional carriers.
