As we move deeper into 2013, companies are starting to reveal their smartphone releases for the new year. And while many consumers will choose to wait, others are going to be looking to snag a new smartphone in the month of March and some of those potential customers may be looking very closely at buying a device on Sprint, the last beacon of unlimited data for new customers.

Just a few days ago, we got confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy S4 would be heading to Sprint’s 4G LTE network in weeks ahead. However, the Galaxy S4 certainly won’t be touching down on Sprint’s network in the month of March. However, that doesn’t mean that consumers looking for a new Sprint smartphone this month should be deterred. In fact, Sprint has quite a bit to like right now.

Sprint remains a solid option for those consumers looking for a new smartphone. For one, it has the third largest 4G LTE network in the land, a network that is continually expanding in an attempt to catch up to Verizon and AT&T which both dwarf the Now Networks high-speed 4G LTE network. This year though should prove fruitful as Sprint is going to be making some expansions to increase its 4G LTE footprint.

What’s more is that Sprint is the last remaining big name carrier in the United States that still offers pure unlimited data to those that are signing a new contract. This is extremely important for power users who might not be willing to sign up for a carrier on AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon and face throttling or data overage charges.

Apple's iPhone 5 remains one of the very best options for Sprint's 4G LTE network.

With its 4-inch Retina Display, solid 8MP iSight camera, industrial design that is both slim (7.6mm) and lightweight (112 grams), iOS 6 software and 4G LTE data speeds, the iPhone 5 is a device that should near the top of any smartphone shopping list.

While the price tag likely won't change until the iPhone 5S arrives, buyers can take solace in the fact that they are buying a phone that will last the duration of a contract with ease.

Luckily for those looking at Sprint, the carrier has a fantastic lineup of phones to compliment its growing 4G LTE network and its unlimited data. So far in 2013, we haven’t seen any big name releases but that is about to change as HTC’s new smartphone will likely hit shelves in the coming days to join an already expansive list of smartphones on Sprint’s network.

That said, here are the devices we consider to be the five best Sprint smartphones for March, 2013.
