iPhone 5S Release Date in June: Finally, A Credible Rumor

Apple hasn’t announced an iPhone 5S release date in June, but according to the latest rumor, a well connected Apple manufacturer is planning for a June iPhone 5S launch and release soon after.

The iPhone 5S is rumored as the next iPhone to launch, and a new rumor claims Apple will announce the iPhone 5S in June. The leak focuses on a June launch, but the manufacturer is also claiming a June iPhone 5S release that their product will match up with.

This would mean a June launch date and a release soon after, which could put the iPhone 5S back on stage at WWDC.

This is the second iPhone 5S announcement rumor for June, but the first that comes from a trustworthy source. The original claim of the iPhone 5S launch in June included the iPad 5 as part of an event with the tagline, “Original Passion, New Ideas” which is not a typical Apple tagline, nor is the Saturday event a typical Apple timing.

A new rumor comes from TechCrunch, where John Biggs reports that at least one very well connected manufacturer is planning for a June iPhone 5S launch.

According to the report, a confidential presentation shows the product plans of this company which points to a “firm June 2013 launch,” of the iPhone 5S.

Apple leaks for iPhone launches are nothing new, and right now there are conflicting leaks that place the iPhone 5S release and launch in June, July, August and pretty much anytime in Q3 2013. Many times manufacturers listen to these same rumors for an inside track on upcoming launches, with a hope of releasing accessories at release.

This rumor is different, according to TechCrunch, because the manufacturer is very well connected. Unlike the unknown manufacturers who cranked out the wrong Samsung Galaxy S4 cases earlier this year, the company tied to a the June iPhone 5S launch rumor boasts the following qualifications.

  • Is an Apple Certified Manufacturer
  • Claiming cooperation with Foxconn for a “synchronization” with a June iPhone 5S release.

The company is reportedly a certified manufacturer which means it is able to make Lightning accessories. TechCrunch calls out Qi certified wireless chargers and dongles for the iPhone 5. These could also be the first iPhone 5S accessories on the market if the company can synchronise their launch with the iPhone 5S.

Current iPhone 5S rumors point to an iPhone that looks similar to the iPhone 5, with a new processor and a new camera. Most rumors point to a built-in fingerprint reader in the home button, but one analyst believes this won’t arrive until the iPhone 6.

Even with such a connected manufacturer, we can’t be sure that Apple is planning an iPhone 5S release in June, until invites go out.
