How to Watch the BUILD 2013 Keynote

Just because you can’t be in San Francisco for Microsoft’s BUILD 2013 conference doesn’t mean you can’t feel like you’re there in person for all of the Windows 8.1, and developer festivities.  Microsoft will be offering all the video watchers at home will need to feel like they are actually there.

Today’s keynote begins promptly at 9 A.M. Pacific Standard Time, 12 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. Though we don’t know which Microsoft executives will be seen during this keynote it’s likely that the company will choose it to fully detail the changes coming to Windows 8 users in the form of Windows 8.1 –the preview of which will also be made available for download. That live stream will take over both the BUILDWindows website.

The same thing goes for the keynote on June 27th. Though that keynote is historically more developer focused, the company is likely to talk about how it will allow developers to create applications games across its line of consumer focused products more easily. That could be huge since, neither Apple nor Google have been able to make it easier for developers to create apps and software for all of their platforms with minimal code changes.

Throughout the week, Microsoft will also be making video from its entire line up of sessions with its product teams and developers available for download on its Channel 9 MSDN Developer Network site. Historically these sessions have included extremely detailed breakdowns on feature changes that Microsoft has made to its products.

Products known to be up for discussion this week include Windows, Windows Phone, Windows Azure, Internet Explorer, Office 365, Xbox and Visual Studio.

Many of the details about the Windows 8.1 update have already been discussed publicly by the company are leaked in the run up to the event. New features will include the return of the Start button, Bing integration, Start Screen customization and much, much more.
