While Apple is expected to debut a new iPhone 5S later this year, the new iPhone still doesn’t have a concrete launch date. However, rumors have converged upon September or October as likely launch months for the new iPhone which means that buyers should start prepping for an arrival sometime during that span.

In September, Apple released the iPhone 5 unto the world with iOS 6, LTE and a new larger screen. And while the iPhone 5 has proven to be a worthy successor to the iPhone 4S, the device’s days appear to be numbered as rumors indicate that Apple will be releasing a new iPhone sometime later this year.

The iPhone 5S is expected to be out this fall, possibly in September.

That device is though to be an ‘S’ series iPhone dubbed the iPhone 5S, a device that is rumored to be coming with a similar iPhone 5 design, improved camera, better equipped processor, iOS 7 and quite possibly, some unique features with a fingerprint reader mentioned as a possibility.

Rumors haven’t settled on a specific date for the iPhone 5S launch but it’s becoming increasingly likely that it will be coming in September or October, falling in line with Apple CEO Tim Cook’s comments about a fall timeline for the company’s new products.

The latest rumor comes from Jefferies analyst Peter Misek, courtesy of BGR, who claims that Apple will start production on the iPhone 5S this month with a launch planned for September or early October. The timing falls in line with previous rumors in regards to iPhone 5S production and comes on the heels of a report that claimed that Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn is on a hiring spree ahead of the iPhone 5S’ arrival.

The iPhone 5S is expected to replace the iPhone 5 as the company's flagship.

While nothing is set in stone yet, it’s clear that Apple has something up its sleeve for the fall and at this point, those who are in the market for a new smartphone, particularly a new iPhone, should start gearing up for an arrival during September or October.

A surprise July or August launch would be nice for many users but at this point, given the iOS 7 fall release date and the hefty dose of iPhone 5S launch rumors, buyers should start focusing on the fall.
