Verizon HTC One Max Price Leaks as Launch Inches Closer

Published

on

This week Verizon Wireless opened up a new retail spot in the Mall of America in Minnesota, and apparently out of the many smartphones and devices on display one was something we’ve never seen before. The HTC One Max complete with pricing information and all.

While Verizon is known for being slow with launching devices that aren’t a DROID,  like they were with the HTC One, the One Max may not receive the same treatment. It went up for sale last week from Sprint, and now it appears Verizon could be next with promotional material being spotted by HTC Source which confirmed the price. How much you ask? The HTC One Max from Verizon is set to debut at $299 with a new 2-year contract. So it certainly won’t be cheap.

$299 may sound like a lot but the similarly sized Galaxy Note 3 rings in at roughly the same price, and when you’re getting a massive 5.9-inch smartphone with a powerhouse quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a fingerprint scanner, and of course those front facing speakers all wrapped in an aluminum unibody design, you should expect a premium price. Then again, Sprint wants only $149.

For those who’d rather not make such a big purchase, the recently unveiled Verizon Edge program gives potential customers the device for an additional $25 a month, free out of the door, which then also allowed for an upgrade a year should you choose. That might be the best route for someone wanting the flagship device without breaking the bank.

As you can see the HTC logo on the front bottom has been removed, with Verizon plastering its own logo front and center instead, and the device will launch with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and the newly improved Sense UI 5.5 on board. We’ve heard an update to KitKat is in the works, but for now hopefully Verizon just focuses on getting the device on store shelves. We’ll update once an official announcement is made.
