Huge iPad Mini Deals for Father’s Day

Published

on

The iPad mini deals keep rolling in ahead of Father’s Day as another retailer offers an iPad mini price cut to those in the hunt for a brand new Apple tablet.

Deals on Apple products are few and far between which means that when they happen, consumers would be wise to at least give them a look. In the past few weeks, we’ve seen enticing iPhone 5s deals emerge, tempting those looking into buying the iPhone 6, and this week it has been all about the iPad mini.

Earlier this week, Target dropped the prices on both the iPad mini and the iPad mini with Retina Display. While the iPad mini with Retina Display price cut wasn’t huge, the original iPad mini deal was, and is, a significant discount. Target is now offering the original iPad mini for $199, or, $100 off of its usual $300 starting price tag.

Not to be outdone, Best Buy is now offering something similar. The retailer is now offering the original iPad mini for $199.99, a $100 price difference. The deal comes just a few days before Father’s Day, likely in an effort to entice those in the market for a gift for Dad.

Best Buy is also offering a $70 discount on the iPad mini with Retina Display. Normally, the device runs $400 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model but Best Buy is offering it for $330 ahead of Father’s Day. This is a deep discount and one that may wind up being one of the best iPad mini with Retina Display offers of the year. Again, new Apple products rarely see deep discounts.

Consumers looking to take advantage of the iPad mini deal for the original need to pick it up from a store. The deal does not apply to online orders. That’s not the case for the iPad mini with Retina Display deal. Those looking to buy the newer iPad mini can either pick it up in store or have it delivered ahead of Father’s Day.

Best Buy says that the device “usually leaves our warehouse in 1 business day” which means that there is still time to get in on the deal ahead of Father’s Day this weekend.

Both devices rank among the best tablets on the market and should only get better later in the year when Apple rolls out its iOS 8 update. iOS 8 will replace iOS 7 with a number of new features including changes to Apple’s iMessage, Notification Center, Photos, Camera, and more. In all, it should come with well over 100 enhancements and changes.

As for the hardware, both of these devices should endure for most of 2014. Apple typically does not announce new iPads until late in the year ahead of the holidays and that’s exactly where rumors are pointing.

iPad mini Retina 6-Month Review

iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 rumors suggest that Apple will be releasing new iPads sometime this year. Details remain scarce but the devices will allegedly come with Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint system that currently adds security and convenience to the iPhone 5s. The feature is expected to come to the rumored iPhone 6 as well.

Apple’s new iPhone is expected to feature a larger display than the iPhone 5s but it likely won’t encroach on the iPad mini or the iPad Air. Rumors suggest that the iPhone 6 will come with a 5.5-inch display and a 4.7-inch display. Both devices are rumored to be out later this year and they could join a lineup that features an iWatch, new MacBook Airs, new iMacs, and perhaps, a brand new iPad Air and new iPad mini.

For now though, the iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad mini 1 and the iPad mini with Retina Display make up Apple’s tablet portion of its lineup.
