Where You Can Pre-Order the iPhone 6

Published

on

The iPhone 6 pre-orders start on Friday September 12th, but thanks to a very, very early start many shoppers will simply say that iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders start tonight.

When the clock ticks over to 12:01 AM Pacific iPhone 6 carriers, Apple and retailers will start taking iPhone 6 pre-orders. This is the best way to make sure your new iPhone arrives on the iPhone 6 release date next week without standing in line.

There is a very good chance that iPhone 6 pre-orders will sell very fast and that iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders for release date delivery may be sold out by the time you wake up on either coast. Whenever there is a brand new iPhone, sales move a little bit faster and with bigger screens some users finally see a reason to upgrade from the iPhone 5.

We’ll show you where you can pre-order the iPhone 6 for release day delivery or even in store pickup. There are several online options that start incredibly early on September 12th, and a few places you can walk into and place an iPhone 6 pre-order at a more reasonable hour.

All of the online iPhone 6 pre-order start times are the same at 12:01 AM Pacific / 3:01 AM Eastern. The in store iPhone 6 pre-order times vary.

Apple & Apple Store App

The Apple Store and the Apple Store app are how many people will pre-order the iPhone 6, but if you want to get any iPhone 6 deals you need to avoid the Apple Store.

Apple does offer something no other online iPhone 6 pre-order does — in store pickup for an online iPhone 6 pre-order. You should be able to choose the store you want to pick up from on the iPhone 6 release date, but Apple is not sharing the details just yet.

Sprint, AT&T and Verizon iPhone 6 pre-order details arrive.

Here is where you can pre-order the iPhone 6.

Verizon

If you want to get on a Verizon Edge plan you’ll want to go with a Verizon iPhone 6 pre-order direct from the carrier. You can order late tonight and you’ll get delivery on the release date.

You can get a $200 gift card when you trade in your old iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5 or iPhone 5c to Verizon and buy an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus on a Verizon Edge Plan. You can get at least $300 for an iPhone 5s as part of this deal.

T-Mobile

T-Mobile iPhone 6 pre-order details arrived late, but they start at the same time as the rest of the carriers and Apple. You may not be surprised to learn that there are no real T-Mobile iPhone 6 deals available, but the pricing offers several $0 down options.

If you want to use T-Mobile Jump! you need to order from T-Mobile. Apple Stores only sell the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at off contract pricing for T-Mobile customers.

AT&T

You can sign up for AT&T Next pricing with Apple, but many customers will prefer to go straight to AT&T. The iPhone 6 pre-orders start right at 12:01 AM Pacific and you can choose the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in all three colors.

AT&T also promises at least $300 for an iPhone 5s trade in, $200 for an iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4s or iPhone 4. There is also a $100 bill credit for adding a new line of service.

Sprint

Sprint is making a big play for your iPhone purchase. You can sign up for an iPhone for Life Plan that lets you rent an iPhone for $20 a month or buy one to own at $30 a month. Of course you can also stick on a regular contract if you want.

Sprint also offers a $50 iPhone plan with unlimited talk, text and data and a $100 four line iPhone plan for families.

Small Carrier Stores

If you want to put your name down for an iPhone 6 pre-order in store you can check some authorized resellers. These smaller stores, often found in a mall or a strip mall, may offer an in store iPhone 6 pre-order that lets you save a place for the stock they get on the iPhone 6 release date.

Unlike the online iPhone 6 pre-order options listed above, these typically are not guaranteed.

There are in store iPhone 6 pre-order options, but not as many for the iPhone 6 Plus.

Radio Shack

You can stop in to a Radio Shack store when they open on September 12th and place an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus pre-order. With this option you qualify for a $50 iTunes gift card when you complete the purchase on the iPhone 6 release date a week later.

There is also a trade-in promotion for $100 to $300 for your old iPhone.

Walmart

Walmart iPhone 6 pre-orders start on September 12th at 9 AM local time. You can only pre-order the 16GB iPhone 6 at Walmart. You can buy the iPhone 6 Plus, but there is no pre-order and it is also only in 16GB.

The iPhone 6 pre-order at Walmart cuts the price to $179 and you get a $15 gift card when you complete the transaction on September 19th at 8 AM. The iPhone 6 Plus is $279 at Walmart, with no gift card offer attached.

Target

The Target iPhone 6 pre-order and iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders start on September 12th at local Target stores. You’ll need to go to a local store sometime on Friday to pre-order and if it is like last year, you are not guaranteed an iPhone 6, just a place in line if they get enough in stock.

Although Best Buy plans to sell the iPhone 6, they are not offering any iPhone 6 pre-orders right now. It is possible that iPhone 6 pre-orders will sell out fast so you may want to set your alarms and order quickly when the clock strikes 12:01 Pacific tonight.
