Verizon Moto X 2014 Release Date Confirmed

While the new Moto X release date hasn’t been as smooth as the company probably expected or wanted, today we received excellent news for eager buyers looking to get their hands on the new phone. Verizon Wireless will officially offer the new Moto X starting tomorrow.

When Motorola took the stage on September 4th and announced the new Moto X, the Moto G for 2014, and the Moto 360 release date, they only had two carriers to talk about. Confirming both Verizon and AT&T would offer the Moto X. When the phone went up for pre-order earlier this month it was only for AT&T, and Verizon was no where to be found.

However, after months of waiting and complete silence since unveiling the phone earlier this month, Verizon has just confirmed the device will be available starting tomorrow. This makes only two major US carriers, but it’s good news for those on Verizon Wireless. More details on the release, features, and pricing can be found below.

Stores are ready for the Verizon Moto X 2014 release date.

The original Moto X from 2013 was released on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, and other regional carriers, and many expected the same in 2014. Sadly that isn’t the case, and instead it has only been available from AT&T so far, with Verizon being added tomorrow. Motorola already confirmed Sprint will not offer the phone, and just like last year it appears as if T-Mobile won’t be offering it in stores either.

The new Moto X (2014) from Verizon Wireless will officially arrive tomorrow, September 26th from VerizonWireless.com and of course MotoMaker.com for full customization options.

The XLTE-ready Moto X 16GB in black will be available online and in stores starting September 26 for $99.99 with a new 2-year contract, or $499 outright. A good $100 or more less than almost all other flagship smartphones released in 2014. And for a limited time, the White Moto X with a custom Bamboo Wood back will be the same $99 on contract. Wood backs are a $25 additional fee, but for a limited time Verizon is footing the bill. Below is what that custom white Moto X will look like.

Verizon and MotoMaker.com will also offer a 32GB version for $149, for those interested in adding some additional storage to their new smartphone purchase. As a reminder, the Verizon Moto X 2014 model still has the options for over 18 different colors, accent colors, engravings, wood backs, and four new leathers for true one-of-a-kind customization.

The new Moto X for 2014 has an improved 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080p full HD display, a quad-core Snapdragon processor with 2GB of RAM, a better 13 megapixel camera with a new “ring flash” system, as well as a front facing speaker for improved audio playback.

This is excellent news for Verizon customers that have been waiting patiently almost an entire month to hear a release date. Most likely orders placed tomorrow will arrive within 10 days, like we saw with AT&T, even though some are experiencing small delays. For those on other carriers, you’ll need to get what’s available, or try the “Pure Edition” Moto X which is unlocked for use on all GSM carriers.

We’ll update with more details as they become available regarding shipping dates, times, and more.
